Atlanta's Chinese Restaurant Collection II

Last week, I talked about Chinese restaurants that are famous and popular. So today, I'll focus more on completing the collection with Sichuan and Cantonese food. To make it not so crowded, other specialty food, such as hot pot and grills will be in the next collection.

By the way, I wouldn't list all those American Chinese restaurant, because my taste buds said no :P To be honest, they are just not authentic. Even if you are in a good Chinese restaurants, always ask for CHINESE MENUS. That's where you would get good quality delicious food.

Sichuan, a province of China, is famous for its spicy food and beautiful ladies. If you are confident about your spice tolerate level, try those dished stacked with chilies and hot sauces.

1 Liu Fu 六福

Located in Johns Creek, they have nice decorations and delicious dished. It is definitely worth trying if you are around the area. Liu Fu is quite on the top of my favorite Chinese restaurant list.

2 Cafe Q Sichuan Restaurant

Another solid Sichuan restaurant in Johns Creek. Again, clean and nice ambience with decent food. They also have generous portion. I personally adore them, especially their pork intestine dish.

3 Sichuan House 老四川

Sichuan House is very famous among Chinese. They also host some of the biggest Chinese get-together events, and provide special dishes. I have had meh experience before, but lately when I revisited it, the portion and quality seem better than before. Maybe Liu Fu and Cafe Q did push Sichuan House to do better.

4 Wok Rock 川外川

It used to be Bo Bo China in Lawrenceville, and moved to Duluth to heat up the competition! They also do delivery on eat24, but only for those americanized dishes. Some were complaining that they are not clean. So be careful.

5 Masterpiece

I promise this will be the last Sichuan restaurant I will introduce in this collection. Duluth and Johns Creek do have a cluster of solid Sichuan restaurants. Anyway, this
is a newly opened one, with Tasty China's chef. The portion is less than normal dishes when I ordered take-out. But you should give it a try since the chef is not bad

Time to talk about Dim Sum, which can cure your hangover. First, you would pick the kind of tea you want to drink, and then, take whatever on the cart rolling around. From Shumai to sweetened tofu, indulge yourself in those delicate dishes invented hundreds of years ago. Chicken feet and shrimp dumplings are my all time favorite.

6 East Pearl Seafood 东云阁

Technically, when you see people line up in a Sunday morning to get Dim Sum, it is a good restaurant. There are not many of them, but East Pearl Seafood is one. In my opinion, it is also the best dim sum place, since they put less MSG and less fried food on the cart.

7 Canton House 富丽华

Canton House actually should be in collection I since it has a prime location and solid food. If come in Sunday morning, the wait is around 45 minutes, and the line could end outside. Therefore, go there around 11 to beat the crowd. Once I tried 1PM to beat the crowd, the food selection is much less than the peak time. Also, more MSG.

Golden House is off I85 104 Exit, and nearby East Pearl Seafood. I haven't tried their normal menu items, but from what I got from dim sum, they are pretty good, meaning not so much MSG, and the menu do have a little bit of novelty like Royal House. I'm going to put this in my ever-growing to-do list.

9 Oriental Pearl Restaurant

Because it is next to Chinatown, Oriental Pearl has no problem attracting customers. It usually is not as full as Canton House, would be a good alternative for dim sum place inside the perimeter. Dim sum plates are okay.
