Great Places to Have Brunch in Atlanta I

After visiting Cafe Jonah and the magic Attic last month, I felt so inspired to share this post. To be honest, there are more than ten places for good brunches, and I'm not going to cover it in one post. Sometimes, it is imperative to order shrimp and grits, or chicken biscuits. But if you are feeling adventurous, those wonderful places will fill you up with innovative ways. The only down side is the wait time. That usually means 30 minutes or an hour without a reservation in a Sunday morning.

1 Highland Bakery
Address: 655 Highland Ave NE Ste 10 Atlanta GA 30312
Phone: 404-586-0772
Website: http://www.highlandbakery.com/
Highland Bakery is THE place to have breakfast. It not only provides peanut butter french toast, but also delicious grits. It is also the place you need to arrive early and beat the crowd. The first one is so successful that they continued to open another three. Still, the original one one Highland Avenue is the best. Try their sweet potato pancakes, peanut butter french toast, and pack some made from scratch pastries to go.

2 Cafe Jonah and the Magical Attic
Address: 3188 Paces Ferry Pl Atlanta GA 30305
Phone: 404-343-4107
Website: http://www.cafejonah.com/
Cafe Jonah is perfectly picturesque inside out. The view from the outside of the restaurant is stunning, especially in spring and summer, when pink flowers blooming on trees. Inside, even their salad combinations are full of colors and mixed with healthy grains. While their menu changes daily, you could choose $20 for Sunday brunch buffet. Surely, it's a little pricey, but well worth it since all the ingredients are of good quality, and counter culture coffee is included. They even have psychic, astrologer and the like hosting events upstairs at weekdays.

3 West Egg Cafe
Address: 1100 Howell Mill Rd NW Atlanta GA 30318
Phone: 404-872-3973
Website: http://www.westeggcafe.com/
This Westside cafe serves breakfast, brunch, dinner, and coffee right. It is also widely acknowledged as the best breakfast and brunch restaurant in Atlanta too. I have to admit, they have the best poached eggs and grits. There's something magically spicy in the grits that would make you feel wonderful. It normally takes long time to be seated. Bonus point, you can still order coffees and bakeries while you are in the line.

3 The Flying Biscuit Cafe
Address: 1001 Piedmont Ave NE Atlanta GA 30309
Phone: 404-874-8887
Website: http://www.flyingbiscuit.com/
Who doesn't want free biscuits with cranberry apple sauce when you sit down for brunch? No one. The biscuit cafe in Midtown is another crowd favorite for Sunday brunch. Be prepared to wait for 30 minutes, and then try their creamy dreamy grits and fried green tomatoes with turkey BLT.

4 Egg Habor Cafe
Address: 5920 Roswell Rd Sandy Springs GA 30328
Phone: 404-389-9915
website: http://www.eggharborcafe.com/
Founded in 1985, it keeps being the egg heaven for years. No matter it's eggceptional skillets, scramblers, omelettes, egg Benedicts or egg-cetera, I guarantee that one will leave with eggceptional satisfactions. How about some fresh squeezed orange juice? Dishes and mugs are also customized into the big colorful healthy egg theme.

5 Buttermilk Kitchen
Address: 4225 Roswell Rd NE Atlanta GA 30342
Phone: 678-732-3274
Website: http://buttermilkkitchen.com/
The name indicates their specialty: buttermilk pancakes! And man, they were huge and so good. The size of  pancakes is more like a medium plate. They are full of flavors, and will fill you up like a happy king. But they are famous for their chicken biscuit, small size with enough crispiness. Did I tell you that their Mexican scrambles are to die for? I was so hungry and happy about this kitchen, that I forgot to take any photos about dishes.

6 Local Three
Address: 3290 Northside Pkwy ste 120 Atlanta, GA 30327
Phone: 404-968-2700
Website: http://localthree.com/
Local Three is pretty underrated or unknown to a lot of people, but I can't tell you how much I love them. Located in the heart of Buckhead, it was named after three local founders. They directly converted me from a cauliflower hater to a lover simply because those roasted yellow flowers are to die for. Let alone chicken biscuits.
