Atlanta's Best Vietnamese Restaurants

I'm trying to cover some deep Asian restaurants lists in Atlanta, partly because I haven't finished European and South American restaurants.

Speaking of Vietnamese restaurants, people always think about a huge bowl of pho (Pronounced as 'Fuh' by the way) with customized herbs and bean sprouts. But don't forget about delicious meat dishes and cheap fresh bahn mi, Vietnamese sandwich. Plus, most dishes are cheap!

1 Lee's Bakery
Address: 4005 Buford Hwy NE Atlanta GA 30345
Phone: 404-728-1008
I cannot stress enough how I love Lee's Bakery. Atlantans lined up in Saturday for lunch; New York Times ranked it as Top 10 bahn mi places in this nation. Yes, it is THAT good. They have a secret sauce to make those sandwiches extra delicious. Compare to other restaurants, waiters speak good English, and services are also very good. What's worth noting is even they are so popular, they don't raise their bahn mi's prices, $3.25 for one sandwich!

2 Pho Dai Loi
Address: 4186 Buford Hwy NE Atlanta GA 30345
Phone:404-633-2111
Pho Dai Loi is commonly acknowledged as the best pho place. They've developed three restaurants at different locations, and inevitably, raised prices. Anyway, the pho soup is still solid, but you might need to size up to at least medium bowl. Don't forget to order paper wrapped spring rolls. They are the best!

3 Com Vietnamese Grill Restaurant
Address: 4005 Buford Hwy NE Atlanta GA 30345
Phone: 404-320-0405
Have you tried Vietnamese formal dinner with dishes and rice, and even hot pot? It is time to jump out of Vietnamese stereotype and try new things. The shaken beef with sauce is my favorite. I always love that they can make beef so tender and juicy, even to steak quality. Also, the sweet and sour hot pot with rice noodle is quite tasty.

4 Dua Vietnamese
Address: 53 Broad St NW Atlanta GA 30303
Phone: 404-589-8889
Aside from its Buford Highway competitors, Dua Vietnamese is a good alternative if you are close to downtown and don't want to drive. Try their lemongrass chicken/tofu rice or a medium bowl of pho. Considering its location and portions, their price is okay. The owner Q is very nice.

5 Nam Phuong
Address: 4051 Buford Hwy NE Atlanta GA 30345
Phone: 404-633-2400
I am more of a regular of the Jimmy Carter Nam Phuong. But each location has solid pho and more. Their dishes have more portions and great prices, but the service can get slow. They have a book for menu, including congee and bubble tea! Rice dishes are their specialty. A really good place to try shaken beef and salt and pepper calamari.

6 Chateau Saigon
Address: 4300 Buford Hwy NE Atlanta GA 30345
Phone: 404-929-0034
Chateau Saigon is on the fancier side of Vietnamese restaurant. It is cleaner, brighter, and of course, more expensive. But this is the place that you can randomly order dinner dishes, they will all come out delicious. Clay pot fish, papaya salads, garlic green beans... You can go with family style if you don't know what to order, sharing several dishes and paying around $15 for each person.

7 Quoc Huong Bahn Mi Fast Food
Address: 5150 Buford Hwy NE Atlanta GA 30340
Phone: 770-936-0605
Even though I am a die hard Lee's bakery fan, I have to admit, Quoc Huong Bahn Mi Fast Food is an good alternative. Cheap cheap prices compared to Subway, and never downgraded tastes. What's more, there's no line, and it's fast. The bread is fresh made, inside which are a lot of vegetables and specially cooked meat. Yum, yum.
