Some Healthy Japanese I

When we are sick of oily restaurant food, healthy Japanese is Always a good option. Fortunately, Atlanta got a bunch of them. This list is more focused on OTP, I need to do another one later.

1 Sushi House Hayakawa
Address: 5979 Buford Hwy Atlanta GA 30340
Phone: 770-986-0010
Website: http://www.atlantasushibar.com/
Sushi House Hayakawa is a staple on Buford Highway. They keep the restaurant small enough (35 people at the same time), to make sure the chef can complete every job impeccable. You can definitely have an intimate dinner with good vibes. Their sashimi plate (omakase) is out of this world.

2 Tomo Japanese Restaurant
Address: 3630 Peachtree Rd Ste 140 Atlanta GA 30326
Phone: 404-835-2708
Website: http://www.tomorestaurant.com/index.html
While Hayakawa is a solid old-fashioned Japanese food, Tomo is more about modern Japanese. Located in Buckhead, it presents elegant, subtle and sometimes innovative dishes. The dessert Mango Sunny is my all time favorite, which uses healthy ingredients to imitate breakfast.

3 Mizumi Ramen
Address: 1611 Satellite Blvd Ste 11 Duluth GA 30097
Phone: 678-682-3400
If you are craving for really good ramen and do not mind driving for longer times, this spot is right for you. Hands down, best ramen in Atlanta. The thickness of soup base, the soft-boiled egg and the elasticity of noodles all combine together to build a perfect ramen.

4 Sushi Yoko
Address: 7124 Peachtree Industrial Blvd Norcross GA 30071
Phone: 770-903-9348
Website: http://www.sushiyoko.com/
With a full-menu of plenty of items to choose from and Tomato Japanese restaurant next door, It is very popular among Japanese. In fact, more than 50% of customers will be Japanese, illustrating its authentication. The only problem you will have is to decide what to order, and trust me, it's not an easy one. Their Takoyaki (octupus ball) is alway my favorite compare to other restaurants.

5 Umaido
Address: 2790 Lawrenceville Suwanee Rd Ste 140 Suwanee GA
Phone: 678-318-8568
Website: http://www.umaido.net/
Another contender for best ramen in town. What's interesting is, they have can-you-finish-all-in-X-mins competitions if you would like to try. If you finish everything, it will be free, otherwise, you pay up what you consume. It is quite common in Japan, but I haven't seen other places hosting this. Plus, the ramen quality is solid, maybe not as good as Mizumi Ramen.

6 Sushi Mito
Address: 6470 Splading Dr Norcross GA 30092
Phone: 770-734-0398
Website: http://www.sushimito.com/
Their lady's lunch is so much worth it before the price hike. You get three courses, and several plates for each courses. The picture above is just one course, entree. Of course, it's exclusive to ladies. Anyway, from lunch specials to dinner, Sushi Mito does not disappoint people. They are also rolling out some new items, such as curry rice and curry ramen.

7 Haru Ichiba
Address: 3464 Satellite Blvd Duluth GA 30096
Phone: 770-622-4060
Website: http://www.haruichibanjapaneserestaurant.com/
Solid food, good price, and okay services. They have decent portion to fill one person, unlike some other Japanese restaurants. Ramens come with a huge bowl and tasty soup. But sometimes, when things get hectic, waitresses tend to ignore me, and it happens more than once. Probably that's the reason I put it at the bottom of the list, service.
